Carolina Simionato is a Brazilian writer, farmer and musician. Carolina’s fiction writing has been supported by the Kenyon Review workshop, the Seventh Wave and Curtis Brown Creative’s Breakthrough mentoring scheme. Carolina has written for Adi Magazine and attended the 2024 Tin House Winter Workshop. They’re a Writing Fellow at the Seventh Wave and are currently working on a novel.
Carolina grew up on a small farm in a Landless Workers’ Movement settlement in the southern Brazilian countryside. They graduated from UNILA (Brazil) with a bachelor’s degree in literature, arts and cultural mediation, which focused on Latin American literature and decolonial theory.
Carolina lived in Germany for five years before returning to their home state of Paraná. Through the exploration of a character’s individuality and interiority, Carolina’s writing investigates larger themes such as colonialism, capitalism and identity.
